Macroeconomics and Finance

The Macroeconomics and Finance group seeks to understand the economic impacts of the intensification of the financialization process of the economy, the development of new fiscal and monetary policies and economic relations between countries. The progress of mathematics and statistical modelling has allowed new quantitative methods to facilitate the understanding of the current economic situation in which different agents are inserted, reducing information asymmetry and promoting the construction of a more transparent and safer financial environment for future investors. The group's meetings aim to update members on the economic scenario in Brazil and around the world, discuss seminal articles and stimulate scientific production in the area. These meetings very often occur twice a month.
